Bokassa Emperor dreamed
Charismatic tyrants of the last centurys
One of the most charismatic tyrants of the last century, Jean-Bédel Bokassa was initiated into the Pioneers in "Artek" in 1970.
He became famous for many things: he declared the Central African Republic, which he ruled, an empire, executed those who were objectionable left and right, and ate the most appetizing of them in the literal sense of the word, that is, he was a cannibal.
Bokassa dreamed of collecting a unique harem
Bokassa dreamed of collecting a unique harem - one wife from each country in Europe, Asia and Africa. But he only managed to have 18 wives, who bore him 77 children. The emperor did not even know all of them by sight, princes and princesses wore >!gold badges with his portrait on their clothes. By the way, children were strictly forbidden even to go near the kitchen, much less try their father's "special" food. Bokassa said that children should not eat human flesh, it can make them weak.
Jean-Bédel Bokassa, the former leader of the Central African Republic who later declared himself emperor, did indeed visit the Soviet Union in 1970, where he was welcomed with ceremonial honors, including a unique gesture of being initiated into the Young Pioneers organization at Artek, a Soviet youth camp in Crimea. This honor was typically reserved for children, and it was an unusual gesture, symbolizing friendship between the USSR and Bokassa’s regime. His visit was part of his broader attempt to strengthen ties with the Soviet bloc during that period.
