When I was alone story

When I Was Alone – A Powerful Story by Shaikof Baloch

🌡 When I Was Alone

“When the world left him to die, his faith brought him back to life.”

I was alone, walking toward my destination. The sun had shifted in such a way that it felt dangerously close to the earth. The sand dunes looked like molten metal, glowing reddish under the burning sky. The air was so hot that breathing itself felt like a struggle—as if oxygen no longer existed.

There was no sign of life anywhere. Every living creature had hidden itself from the terror of the sun. Even the earth seemed unable to tolerate such heat.

In desperation, I looked up and asked the sun, “Why have you come so close? Because of you, walking has become impossible. Everything is hiding from your fear.”

The sun replied, “This is not the time for questions. This is the time to protect yourself. I have not moved—the earth has moved closer to me. I am molten fire; do not come near me. Keep your distance if you wish to survive.”

Then I turned to the earth and asked, “Could you not choose another day to come closer to the sun?”

The earth answered, “I rotate as I must. Today, I felt cold and needed warmth, so I turned toward the sun. You must find shelter and protect yourself.”

I searched everywhere for shade, but there was none—only endless wasteland. Finally, I found a small tree. Its shadow was smaller than my body, covering only half of me. I accepted it as a blessing from God and placed my head within its shade.

I was extremely thirsty. I had a little water, but it was hot. When I tried to drink, it would not go down my throat. I looked around—there was nothing but emptiness. No life. No hope. No direction forward or backward.

Half of my body burned under the sun, and the other half rested in shade. I stood alone—completely helpless. It felt as though there was no one between me and God.

I looked toward the sky and asked:

“O my God… Does the Day of Judgment come before death or after death?”

No answer came.

“Will anyone ever see my dead body in this condition?”

No answer.

“The purpose for which I left home—will it remain incomplete?”

Silence again.

“Will I leave this world without seeing another human?”

Still, no reply.

At that moment, the Devil appeared and laughed.

I asked, “Why are you laughing? Did I ask something wrong? Did I commit a sin?”

The Devil said, “Your questions are powerful, but you don’t understand—God does not speak directly like this. You are alone. No one will save you. Your body will be torn apart by animals, your bones scattered. You will never reach your destination. But come with me—I will make you successful, famous, rich. People will respect you. Be my companion.”

I stood up with all the strength left in me and said:

“No! This cannot happen. If no one is with me, God is still with me. I believe in Him completely. The purpose for which I left my home will be fulfilled. Faith is the first step toward success. You have no place between me and my God.”

When I looked again, the Devil had disappeared.

The shadow of the tree grew larger. The heat of the sun began to fade. The water in my bottle became cool. I took the name of God and drank. The burning land cooled beneath my feet.

Strength returned to my body.

I remembered a saying:

“When fate favors someone, it tests them through hardship—so they become strong enough to wear the crown of success.”

With renewed energy, I stood up, thanked God, and continued toward my destination.
