When you open a folder then you see the file size in kilo bytes (KB) not (mega Bytes)MBs or (Giga Bytes) GBs, now we are going to understand this.
A bit is a Binary digiT, the smallest increment of data on a computer. A bit can hold only one of two values: 0 or 1, corresponding to the electrical signal values of 1 or 0 (ON or OFF) (TRUE or FALSE), respectively.
Desision cirsuits
A computer processor consists of several decision circuits, each of which can be turned OFF or ON.
These two states are represented from the memory point of view as 1 or 0 (ON or OFF) (True or False). In order to read more than 1, these bits are connected as series together.
What does byte mean
A group of eight bits is known as a byte.
1 byte can represent numbers from zero (00000000) to 255 (11111111) or 2 the power 8 is 28 = 256 different positions. Of course, these bytes can also be combined to represent large numbers.
In practice, memory is measured in kilobytes (KB) or megabytes (MB). A kilobyte is not one thousand bytes (1000) as might be expected. Most likely the correct amount is 2 the power of 10 (210), that is, 1024 bytes. Similarly, a megabyte is not 1000 the power of 2, (10002), that is, 1,000,000 bytes, but 1024 the power of 2 (10242), that is, 1,048,576 bytes

8 Bits is equal to 1 Byte (word)

We understand that GB stands for Giga Bytes. Gigabyte is a measurement of the amount of data storage for computers/PCs, tablets, smartphones, game consoles and other computing devices

1 GB is equal to 1024 x 1024 x 1024 Bytes
